only enso: home fragrance inspired by Japan

Experience the soothing and unique scents of Japan with only enso, a home fragrance business based in Birmingham, UK. Our eco-conscious candles and home fragrances are crafted with sustainability and transparency in mind.

It is important to us that our business impacts the environment as little as possible and this helps us to drive every decision in our business.

We use 100% plant-based soy wax and recycled paper labels, and our wax melt clamshells are made from recycled plastic. All of our products are vegan, cruelty-free, paraffin-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free. Each of our candles come with a plantable seeded dust cover so you can re-use your candle jar as a plant pot once the candle is finished and you’ll also get a re-useable linen bag.

At only enso, we believe in offering high-quality, affordable, and aesthetically pleasing products that are kind to the planet and our customers.

The business is run by a one-woman band and I create every product by hand in small batches to ensure the best quality possible. We develop, pour, package and despatch every item in house.

Transformed from a personal hobby that aided in coping with anxiety and a sense of aimlessness, this small business now thrives and brings immense happiness. Candle making provided a therapeutic escape, and the first three blends, namely Smoked Maple, Onsen, and Bamboo Forest, were created on a kitchen hob in batches of four per fragrance. Presently, the business has expanded its offerings by introducing 11 new blends to complement the core collection. In addition, the business has released a range of wax melts, car diffusers, reed diffusers, massage candles, limited edition collections, and gift sets.

Inspired by the enso circle, a symbol of simplicity, harmony, and infinity in Japanese calligraphy, only enso seeks to transport customers across the world and evoke happy memories. Our scents, carefully selected and blended, are all inspired by Japan and unique in their blends.

The enso circle represents the circle of life, the beginning and end of all things, and the connection of everything in existence. It is also a visual reminder that not everything in life is perfect, every single enso circle is unique, just like us.
